Nina Youssoufou
Nina holds a MSc degree in Political Science from Sciences Po Grenoble, specializing in the integration of emerging technologies into public policies, with a focus on the biotechnology market and its related sectors. She has served as a political advisor for the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, at the Economic Diplomacy directorate. She recently joined the Centre for Future Generations, as a Biotechnology Policy Officer.

Rainbow specialises in accelerating the development, scaling, and adoption of disruptive technologies (deep tech) from the lab into the market. She has helped governments with their national tech strategy, and business leaders to reduce their environmental impact. Before working in the private sector, focussing on industrial biotech and climate change mitigation, she obtained her PhD in Chemistry and Biology at King’s and Imperial College London as well as two Master’s degrees at King’s and University College London. She plans to apply her experience working in France, the US and China to close the innovation gap.

Trained as a biotechnologist, professionally an educator, and now working predominantly in community building. I run the annual synbio hackathon Read~Write~Grow across Europe that brings interdisciplinary teams together to design solutions to hard problems. At EUSynBioS, I work in the policy team, fostering strategic partnerships to help shape the future of biotech in Europe. I’m motivated by helping people realise their strengths and collaborate effectively. My hobbies include reading and writing science fiction to reimagine and inspire our biofutures.
