The growing community of synthetic biology has brought forth a number of local and national groups of students and young researchers dedicated to the advancement of their discipline. The SynBioS Consortium has been established as an international forum facilitating collaborative efforts between national associations. Representatives from member organisations meet twice a year to give updates on their activities, coordinate initiatives, and review progress.
The European Synthetic Biology Society (EUSynBioS) was founded as a student-led initiative in late 2014 and registered as a non-profit organization in 2019. Their goal is to shape and foster a community of researchers active in the scientific discipline of synthetic biology within Europe by means of providing an integrative central resource for interaction and professional development.
