The Partnerships Team is focused on connecting EUSynBioS with other players in the field and make constructive alliances.


I am fascinated by the versatility of microorganisms and how synthetic biology expands their boundaries. As a scientist and project manager working in industry, I stay active outside work through road cycling and trail running.

Irendra is very passionate about bringing innovation to the people. He is also motivated by inspiring people to think outside their traditional thinking. He is a part of the funding and partnerships team. He likes gardening and travelling when he is not in the office.

Divjot Kaur recently completed her postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford, where her work focused on synthetic biology, retron-based genome editing technologies, and antimicrobial resistance. Her research explored the use of programmable DNA editing systems to reverse antibiotic resistance and better understand bacterial evolution. Alongside academia, she has also worked in life sciences consulting, supporting strategic projects across biotechnology and oncology. Within EUSynBioS, she is interested in the translation of synthetic biology from research into real-world applications, particularly in healthcare and biotechnology innovation. Outside of science, she enjoys aerial arts, cooking, and spending time with her cat.

Divjot Kaur

Passionate about SynBio in a broad way but especially in the concept of swapping genetic components among different organisms (soon or late I would like to create purple lemons). Previously worked at a project for innovative treatment of Implant Associated Infections (Bioaction). Currently tutoring students and looking for industry-related opportunities.

In my spare time I mostly like to create new dishes in the kitchen or being outdoor enjoying a good hike.

Enrico Sorrenti



Biology student at Maastricht University. Completed a bachelor's thesis at the MERLN Institute on edible fiber scaffolds for cultivated meat. Spent a semester in Trento, including a course project that led to actual talks with a company about implementing it. Also spent two years as president of a karate association.

Currently pursuing my PhD in Synthetic Biology at the University of Tübingen, I am focused on leveraging the power of biological systems to create sustainable, scalable solutions. My research is grounded in the belief that the most impactful science happens at the intersection of discovery and application. believe that streamlining the pipeline between the lab bench and the market is essential for the future of the bioeconomy.

I like networking and am interested in learning more about the Synthetic Biology community and initiatives in EU.

Outside the lab, I love being outdoors, hiking, and exploring new places. I have a passion for discovering different cuisines and enjoy spending time cooking at home. I also find great balance in sitting down with a good book.
