EUSynBioS Social at Synthetic Biology UK 2017

The Synthetic Biology UK 2017 conference, principally organised by the Biochemical Society, will be held in Manchester 27-28 November 2017. This event aims to showcase recent research and foster community-building across the UK synthetic biology community.

EUSynBioS will be there, with a surprise: in collaboration with the conference organizers, we will host a networking event right after the conclusion of the formal conference sessions.

This informal social event brings together early-career researchers with industry representatives and academics in synthetic biology.

Join us for a drink from 15:30 to 17:30 in the Atrium of the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, next to the Manchester Conference Centre (1 min walk)!

Stay tuned for more updates!

Introducing the EUSynBioS Forum!

Today we're excited to unveil a part of our web service that we've been talking about since inception--a forum for open discussion between EUSynBioS members. The EUSynbioS Forum is open to all members and while we (i.e the steering committee) have started a few helpful topics, we want the forum to be completely member driven.

You're welcome to post anything synbio related and yes, you can post anonymously (cross the moderators at your own peril!) too.

P.S. Look out for the surprise announcement within :)

Now, head on over to www.eusynbios.org/forum!

Write for EUSynBioS Pulse!

Hello EUSynBioS Members!

We’re opening up several writing positions for EUSynBioS Pulse, our blog and newsletter. This is a great opportunity for those of us interested in science-writing other than manuscripts and funding proposals!

EUSynBioS Writers will get:

...writing credits on each blog post on our website and newsletter.

...experience in writing about synthetic biology from both a research and policy perspective. We’re looking for writers who could elaborate on recent research manuscripts, policy, or human practice updates. This is an excellent way to start reading and writing about issues beyond your immediate field of research too !

...opportunities for covering synbio events and meeting synbio PIs and companies for interviews and site visits/profiles.

Being an EUSynBioS Writer will not involve a lot of work: typically, a writer would be expected to contribute about 1 short article every 1-2 months. More frequent contributions would of course be welcome. If you’re interested in joining the EUSynBio Pulse writing team and keen to find out more, comment here, send us an email or tweet us @EUSynbioS. Spread the word!

We're looking forward to your messages!

EUSynBioS is looking for Industry Partners !

EUSynBioS icon BW

EUSynBioS invites companies in synthetic biology, biotechnology, and related disciplines to join the initiative as its Industry Partners.

In exchange for a membership fee used to support symposia and professional development events, Industry Partners will benefit from full access to the EUSynBioS community: they will not only be able to advertise featured jobs via the initiative’s web presence and social media channels, but track and recruit talented synthetic biology students and postdocs via its membership database, mentoring scheme, and industry site visits. Industry Partners are furthermore invited to directly interact with leading academics and stay up-to-date with latest developments in synthetic biology research at the annual conference of EUSynBioS, and eligible to contribute important strategic guidance to the initiative as members of its Advisory Board.

To learn more about EUSynBioS and opportunities for collaboration, please get in touch via sc.eusynbios@gmail.com, or come talk to us at SynBioBeta London 2015.
