
The growing community of synthetic biology has brought forth a number of local and national groups of students and young researchers dedicated to the advancement of their discipline. The SynBioS Consortium has been established as an international forum facilitating collaborative efforts between national associations. Representatives from member organisations meet twice a year to give updates on their activities, coordinate initiatives, and review progress.
EUSynBioS (Europe)
The European Association of Synthetic Biology Students and Postdocs (EUSynBioS) was founded as a student-led initiative in late 2014. Their goal is to shape and foster a community of young researchers active the young scientific discipline of synthetic biology within Europe by means of providing an integrative central resource for interaction and professional development.
EBRC SPA (United States of America)
The Engineering Biology Research Consortium (EBRC) aims to be the leading organization bringing together an inclusive community committed to advancing biological engineering to address national and global needs. The EBRC Student and Postdoc Association (SPA) fosters interaction among postdocs, students, and PIs across EBRC labs and institutions.
SynBio UK (United Kingdom)
SynBio UK is an association uniting the synthetic biology university societies at Oxford, Imperial College London, Cambridge, Warwick, UCL and Edinburgh. By fostering ties between students passionate about synthetic biology, SynBio UK enables them to combine their strengths and promote a vibrant national community.
