Ángel is now Lecturer in Synthetic Biology at Newcastle University (UK). His research focus on the multi-scale study of molecular dynamics that will, in turn, govern the functioning of genetic logic circuits. Standardization of data and constructs to establish robust workflows is one of his major challenges. He also runs the MSc in Synthetic Biology to train the new generation of synthetic biologists.
MPI MARBURG, TREASURER 2015
Nico is a graduate student in the Lab of Victor Sourjik at the MPI Marburg and the Center for Synthetic Microbiology (SYNMIKRO). He is working on different aspects of Synthetic Biology, from Protein Engineering to Microbial Community Engineering to provide new tools for Synthetic biology and Metabolic Engineering.
IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON, INDUSTRY LIAISON OFFICER 2015-16
Will is a graduate student in the Ellis Lab at Imperial College London. He is working on strategies to characterise and assemble therapeutic networks in yeast to be re-implemented in mammalian cells for practical usage.
ETH ZÜRICH, POLICY OFFICER 2015-17
Devang is a PhD student in Hervé Vanderschuren's group in Prof Willi Gruissem's lab. He is currently involved in collaborative research into developing RNA-based technologies for engineering DNA virus resistance in plants. His interests lie in applied synthetic biology and in bringing science from the lab to a wider public audience.
UNIVERSITY OF COPENHAGEN, SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER 2016-17
Kostas is now a CSIRO SynBio Future Science Fellow at the University of Queensland. He is also a member of the executive board (communications) of Synthetic Biology Australasia.
